Ghostwriting

This is your idea, your book, told in your voice - and with your name on the cover …

As a professional, bestselling ghostwriter, I take great pride in drawing the best stories from authors and bringing their personalities to life on the page, allowing them to engage directly with their readers without any suspicion a ghost was present.

One of my favourite aspects of being a ghostwriter – aside from the writing itself – is immersing myself in the role of capturing an author’s true voice, so much so that I begin to think, talk and act like that person. Over the years I have worked with clients from all walks of life, and from all corners of the world. I’m frequently praised for my approachable, empathetic, and non-judgemental manner. Likewise, authors, editors and agents often comment on my ability to capture voices with ‘amazing authenticity’. Whatever your story, my aim is to turn it into an engaging, unputdownable book.

How does the process work?

Once you have decided to work with me on your book idea, a collaboration agreement is signed – and then the interviewing process begins. For a typical 60,000-to-80,000-word memoir, this usually involves at least 20 hours of interviewing time, conducted over regular sittings. These sessions can occur in person, via video or phone calls, or a combination of these options. I will then transcribe and print those recorded conversations and write a chapter plan. Often, when necessary, I will want to interview your friends and family members who are part of your story. Sometimes I’ll ask for photographs or any necessary documents that support your claims. I will consult with you at every stage while writing the book.

How much does it cost?

For a 60-80,000-word memoir, my rates start from £20,000, but prices do vary according to the type of project and amount of work involved. This investment includes a deposit followed by monthly instalments for the duration of the project.

Writing coaching

Maybe you have an idea for a book but you’re struggling to put words on the page? Or perhaps you already have a complete manuscript – or work in progress – that would benefit from expert guidance and restructuring? Perhaps you’re a first-time writer, even. Either way, as a bestselling ghostwriter and author, I know what it takes to shape raw ideas into publishable page-turners, and my coaching services are designed to help authors at all stages of the writing process.

Whether you’re working on a biography, memoir, narrative non-fiction, true-crime or self-help project, I offer a bespoke one-to-one coaching packages tailored to meet your desired goals.

Available coaching packages

Six months: We begin with an online session (up to three hours), during which we’ll discuss your vision and expectations for your book. We’ll discuss everything from tone of voice, narrative structure, and scene-setting, to identifying your target audience and publishing and promotional options for your completed manuscript. We will then have three one-hour coaching sessions per month, between which I will provide regular feedback and advice on your work in progress. The total investment for this package is £4,600, which includes a £1,000 deposit followed by six monthly payments of £600.

Twelve months: I also offer the above service over a one-year period, priced at £9,200. This includes a £2,000 deposit followed by monthly instalments of £600.

Book proposals

A book proposal is a pitch to publishers. It gives commissioning editors a detailed overview of your book idea, including its subject, structure, commercial value and why it matters. My rate for a full book proposal starts at £6,000.

A typical book proposal is usually between 10,000 and 15,000 words and contains:

  • A short synopsis

  • Section outlining the author’s authority to write the book

  • A breakdown of competing titles

  • One page on specialist marketing outlets

  • Chapter outlines

  • A sample chapter
